Simply Delicious, Deliciously Simple by Christa Battistone is a book of European cream and mousse torte recipes from Germany, France, Italy and Austria.

The author was born and raised in Germany and is currently a resident of Waterloo Region. She is a chef and the daughter of a professional baker and for a while operated her own bakery cafe in Kitchener. Christa enjoys nurturing friendships over a delicious piece of cake and a cup of coffee.

Her recipes feature the famous European cream and mousse tortes that have existed for over five hundred years and delighted the likes of Mozart and Strauss. Included are recipes for Hazelnut Bavarian Cream, Gateau Basque and Tiramisu. The recipes have been modified to make them easy for today's home bakers without sacrificing taste.

The foundation of the cakes consist of three basic batters. Master these three simple batters and a handful of her creams and fillings and you are on your way to making the dozens of gorgeous and delicious cakes featured in her book and even creating something special of your own.

Each recipe is accompanied by a beautiful photo and clear, step-by-step instructions. The beginning of the book includes hints and tips to assure that your foray into European baking is successful. Guten Appetit!
