Cameron Diaz shares her formula for becoming happier, healthier, and stronger in this positive, essential guide grounded in science and inspired by personal experience, now a #1 New York Times bestseller.

Throughout her career, Cameron Diaz has been a role model for millions of women. By her own candid admission, though, this fit, glamorous, but down-to-earth star was not always health-conscious. Learning about the inseparable link between nutrition and the body was just one of the life-changing lessons that has fed Cameron's hunger to educate herself about the best ways to feed, move, and care for her body. In The Body Book, she shares what she has learned and continues to discover about nutrition, exercise, and the mind/body connection.

Grounded in science and informed by real life, The Body Book offers a comprehensive overview of the human body and mind, from the cellular level up. From demystifying and debunking the hype around food groups to explaining the value of vitamins and minerals, readers will discover why it's so important to embrace the instinct of hunger and to satisfy it with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Cameron also explains the essential role of movement, the importance of muscle and bone strength and why we need to sweat a little every day.

The Body Book does not set goals to reach in seven days or thirty days or a year. It offers a holistic, long-term approach to making consistent choices and reaching the ultimate goal: a long, strong, happy, healthy life.

This would be a good book to read with your teenage daughter. It is from a young woman to other young women and the voice of the author is definitely suited to the teen or late teen audience. Very positive and motivating to understand good health and set good healthy habits. Nothing too deep here, but really suited for the right audience.

This is a long book to read, but not necessarily a hard read. There's a lot of scientific information, but worded exactly how you'd think Cameron Diaz would say it to you. I think this is good for those who are uncomfortable with their bodies and don't have a lot of information about good nutrition, sleep, etc. and don't remember a lot from biology classes in high school! I do like the positive spins she put on embracing difficult things such as working out and growing old.

Great book! Cameron explains health and our bodies in a way that everyone can understand. Some stuff she covers people probably already know but its nice to get a refresher and there was lots of info that was new and helpful too. And its all about being positive and loving yourself more. As women we need to do this more. Most of us are busy looking after everyone else all the time and need to be reminded to do things for us too. And to love our bodies and look after them.

I very much enjoyed this book. As women, we are very harsh and have bad perceptions of out body and how it should be percrived. The female body is an amazing thing. The body book shows you the wonders and made me appreciate my body more. Plus, I heard Cameron's voice in my head while I read. Very entertaining. :)

A patron review from the Adult Summer Game: "Presents basic information about health, nutrition, how the body works, etc. It is easy-to-follow and informative and more like a text book, but there was enough of Diaz in it to keep it from being boring (and thankfully not too much to have one roll their eyes at her celebrity). A good book for science-minded women."

I actually enjoyed this book and agree with all the other comments. My take on it is simplicity, yes, but the humor was great. Let's face it, a lot of people don't understand the basic stuff. I followed similar paths for years but still appreciated her take on life in general.

One star. The cover has so much promise. But amazingly this book is so dull. She wrote it like science textbook! There's even diagrams of the body that resemble Science Probe 10. Save your time and skip this. Nothing in here is groundbreaking. I was hoping she would share some of her own personal tips but all that I learned is she spends Sundays cooking her meals for the week. How about some recipes, woman!?

I thought she described health in a way that is easy to understand for most women in this country. But she was kind of late to jump on the bandwagon because there are a lot of health books out there already on the same exact topics. I did get some good ideas for different types of food to eat though, like lentils, which have high nutritional value. I guess if she can use her celebrity status to get people to work on their health more, that's a good thing!

Appealing, simple, easy-to-follow, informative book. Diaz's humor was a nice touch also. She doesn't come across condescending like I thought she would. I'd definitely buy this for my collection.

Saw Cameron on the Dr Oz show promoting this book, so thought it might have some insider tips. Here are the tips: start your day with a litre of water, eat good food, move more .... Doesn't get anymore specific than that.
Now I've saved you time, you don't have to read this book. You're welcome :)
