Almost a complete opposite to "Mommy dearest" where the author praised his father in 7 attributes that could apply to anybody not just hockey players.
Author painted more nuanced biography on his father & secondary autobiography.
I chuckled he was typical nerd (loved school & test) & closer to Lisa Simpson than jock of his father & two older brothers. Comment by Wayne Gretzky of "If I had 100% in English test, I wouldn't have to play hockey" interesting. Ditto on stem cell treatment on Gordie to improve quality of life, or visiting exotic Saskatoon.
Gordie & Colleen raising four upstanding kids who knew right & wrong their greatest legacy.
Compared that to couple who were children of two founders of Tim Horten who reduced benefits after Ontario minimum wage hike.
CBC movie within five years?
