The original and the best. David Brent is so awkward that it is painful to watch. Just thinking about "Monkey" makes me laugh.

I liked this (original) version just as much as I liked the NBC series. The very first episode of the US version is a virtual joke-for-joke copy of the UK show, but happily the two diverge from there. The humour in the British series is a little more subtle and dry, and the boundaries of good taste are pushed further (why do Americans seem to be so easily offended?).

The UK series works within a short (finite) time frame of just 2 season (composed of 14 episodes), so it ends before the viewer has a chance to grow tired of it (seriously, the NBC series should have ended at season 5).

Well worth the 2 month wait in the EPL hold queue!

"Biting" doesn't do this justice by half. Incredible stuff that goes well beyond what normally passes for comedy on television.
