Gift Days. 2012 Nassali, a motherless Ugandan girl, longs to go to school like her older brother but must spend her days caring for her younger siblings. Her brother, Motoovu decides to give her the best gift ever: one day each week he gets up extra early to do all the chores and spend time teaching his little sister to read and write. The author includes a glossary and information about organizations such as the Stephen Lewis Foundation that help real girls like Nassali receive an education.
