You ever see that Tumblr post saying someone should write a book about how one's birthmarks are just the scars of how we previously died? Or that deja vu is actually our brains remembering our past lives? This is that book, and it's awful. This book was so boring and predictable. I don't see what's so great about Daniel. It seems like the author tried too hard to make him seem "mysterious" but seriously he just came off as a huge horndog, living passively from life to life and getting sad when he can't get it in.
Nothing romantic about a dude stalking her over a thousand years, constantly calling her the wrong name, spouting all this bull about her past lives instead of trying to be a normal person and a friend first before confessing his everlasting love for her after talking for a total of 5 minutes while some poor kid is lying in the hallway after being shanked. Bruh.
And a hugely underwhelming ending. I see why this book didn't sell well and might not get a sequel. Would not recommend.

I loved the premise of the book, at the beginning there is a bit of a wall to climb until it gets interesting. After the third or fourth chapter the story really gets moving and is exhilarating until the sad plain brick wall that is the end. If a sequel was never planned I have no idea why the novel would end the manner in which it did. The story had a lot of build up only to lose steam at the end, and characters acting out of sorts for the last few chapters.

Would love and read a sequel to this, but as it stands I would give this a 5/10 due to the conclusion.

I would have given this book another star if it hadn't left me wanting so much more at the end. If a sequel wasn't planned in the first place, then this book needed to be at least twice as long to answer a lot of questions. I was really loving the unique story until it abruptly ended. If Ann Brashares cares about her readers, she'd find a way to give them more on this story. If her publisher thought that this book didn't sell enough copies to warrant a sequel, she could find another publisher, or simply write a blog to complete the story. Or maybe she just couldn't find a way to explain everything.

The creativity and the unravelling of the story was so captivating, the ending felt somewhat bland in comparison.
But as a whole it felt like it was the right way to end it.

I love this book so much!! I really hope there is a sequel (the ending just wasn't the end)! I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a great, tragic romance novel.

Whether you are a believer in reincarnation or not you will love this book. The book talks of a powerful relationship which transcends lifetimes. The love between two people thrives death and destruction and leaves us the readers turning pages hastily. A must read.

I found this very boring.. Couldn't even get past the first few chapters.. Just was not intrigued to read it. I generally really like her stuff though! A little disappointing.
