I can only describe this book as "Nora Roberts Noir" There is a pretty damsel in trouble, the private eye, the stolen fortune in diamonds, the villian. At any time I was expecting a malteze falcon, or some other equally cliche plot point.

Still a decent read but my least favorite novel by Nora Roberts.
