I have a problem with Roman Polanski as a person, but as a director, ya gotta credit him. This film is stylish, sophisticated and polished. It is a film that Hitchcock would make, were he in his prime today. Based on the book by Robert Harris (most famous for Fatherland), it is a tight, atmospheric thriller with a lot of very plausible background. The Pierce Brosnan character is based on Tony Blair. This should be required viewing after seeing The Queen, if only to erase the whitewashed character of Blair in that film.

A good adaptation of Robert Harris's book. The initial slow pace speeds up building tension. Some of the characters' motives are not clear. Good entertainment.

This wonderful film is a work of a man who knows how to direct a thriller with stylish direction, a tense screenplay, and a strong cast with great performances, amazing backgrounds and themes. Brosnan plays the character of Adam Lang, who has echoes of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and calls for him to face war crimes trials. Don't miss it.

Excellent psychological thriller combined with political corruption and international intrigue. The movie is as good as the book.

Pierce Brosnan is one of my top three favorite all-time actors and I also like Ewan McGregor very much so the two in a movie together has great appeal. I enjoyed this film again (second time watching). Lots of suspense, twists and surprises with great location scenery. Ewan's bit of humor in his role's dialogue (like in "The Island") adds dimension to his character in a serious situation.

Typical Suspense story, not sure what the ending means but still a good watch. Had a hard time keeping track of who was who to whom and what they were important for.

Ewen McGregor is always good. A good story although a bit hard to follow? Pay attention! Kim Cattrall's accent shifts throughout the film for sure, although she seemed to be doing a good job otherwise!!

Slow but intriguing. The bleak setting and a few plot elements reminded me of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, but this was less complex and without the sexual content. Few movies are able to reverse the viewer's perspective on what is happening so quickly.

i would imagine that the task of being a ghost writer of a political memoir is akin to a chef trying to make SPAM taste good. The concept of the film is intriguing however the execution was slow and disjointed.
