This is a poor excuse of a DVD, full of political correctness. Naturally it is funded by the long downtrodden Canadian taxpayer, without whom it would never have seen the light of day, The cover falsely claims, "These ... performances are filmed against the dramatic backdrops of beautiful rugged landscapes, ancient Celtic ruins and windswept ocean shores," when in fact most are filmed in indoor performance venues, and at least one in the most unsuitable possible environment, a recording studio complete with cables running everywhere and the performers treated like laboratory rats.

1988 A great Canadian program about Celtic music in Canada, Ireland & Scotland. Insights into how tradition interweaves with contemporary influences in the music . Interviews and performances with Mary Black, Altan's Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh, John Allan Cameron, Capercaillie's Karen Matheson, Chieftains, Clannad's Mairie Brennan, Seamus Egan, Mary Jane Lamond, Ashley MacIsaac, Dougie MacLean, Natalie MacMaster, Loreena McKennitt, Old Blind Dogs, The Rankin Sisters. Well with a look and listen! Putumayo CD of the same name is also in VIRL's collection.
