Apologize, apologize by Elizabeth Kelly

This book is filled with the most outrageous characters and their verbal fencing is hilarious. ( If I wasn't allergic to birds I'd become a pigeon coach). Although it is quite funny it also has its dark side . I went into this book thinking it would all be just one laugh but tragedy shows up and the characters all have to deal with it in their own way. I found it a little hard going after that but I still enjoyed it and would recommend it .There is redemption lots of dogs, and pigeons.

A gem! It makes every other dysfunctional family one has read about. The author's style keeps the reader turning the pages. It is possible to have sympathy for Collie. When one, like Collie, grows up surrounded such strong and self-center personalities stronger than he it is easy to fall into a state of self pity. In the end one is not sure whether it is better to shake him while telling him to grow-up or feel sympathy for him and his life in life.

This book is a gem....beautiful marriage of top-of-the-line writing and out-loud laughter. Characters are outrageously preposterous which makes them maddenly but happily out of reach.Elizabeth Kelly is a first-rate writer.
