Dark Desire --like Christine Feehan's Hidden Currents, with its main character, Elle Drake-- I found quite painful to read as I felt great sympathy for Jaques-- the leader of the Carpathian people, Mikhail's younger brother-- as he went thru horror torture at the hands of...humans. As I knew Dark Desire was the 2nd book in the Dark series, and I knew it had to work out right for Jacques--as he was one of the main characters of the Dark series-- for the series to continue, I kept working on finishing the book, and ...after the first one-third, I did enjoy the rest of the book.
After finding this book in the library, I'm now looking forward to getting my hands on the rest of the books and getting back into the series!
Of the Dark series I've read so far, this has got to be the best! It will keep you wondering who, what and why till the end. The twist was unexpected. I carried this book everywhere I went, even work. Couldn't put it down. Sometimes, insomnia is a good thing :) I would definitely recommend this book, as well as all the others in C.F.'s Dark series. What an awesome author, I hope she never stops!
intense, exciting. with surprising and unexpected twists and conclusion. good read
