Opinion

From Library Staff

One of the best-selling books of all time, this is the story of a horse who, beginning his days as a carefree colt on a farm, becomes an overworked horse pulling cabs in London, England (and then is able to retire happily to a farm, once again).

Black Beauty is a very touching story about a horse. It makes the reader care about horses and animals more after reading the book. I think anyone who is 10 and up would find this book interesting to read.

My favourite part was when Black Beauty was born. The story is about Black Beauty's life.

The beloved classic story of Black Beauty is retold in this beautifully-illustrated picture book for readers who love horses and other animals. It’s the story of a horse whose life becomes very hard when he goes from a loving owner to a cruel owner, until he is finally rescued by a kind groom.
