I had heard of this show and grew up listening to the soundtrack when I was very young. But to see this revival at Lincoln Center was something else! For the first time I was able to put all the songs in perspective and hear "The Ladies Who Lunch" performed by Ms. LuPone was the genuine highlight of the evening! She more than deservd the ovation she received at the end, and I truly loved her delivery on the lines, especially the one she delivers right as the song was done and the audience had calmed down ...

The acoustics was rather poor.. I have seen a number of Broadway Musicals live on stage including "Cats" and everyone had a fine sound. some were performed in an outside bowl and some inside theaters.. This presentation of "Company" sounded like they were playing to an empty theater with canned laughter. Also the main character (batchelor) had a many strident tones very unpleasant He had some warm tones but apparently had a bad vocal coach. Some of the script of the women sounded unnecessary and" trashy" but their voices were well trained and easy to listen to. Interesting staging and use of lights.

I admit I'm missing that particular gene which allows one to appreciate Broadway musicals, they just seem like so much pointless caterwauling to me---and Sondheim productions always seem to be the most annoying. But this revival of his 1970 Tony winner about a lonely 35-year old bachelor weathering personal advice from all his unhappily married friends was so well done that I can forgive the usual artsy conceits. Nicely staged (the lighting was perfect) with songs that were refreshingly non-irritating and a brash sense of humour that balanced out the emotional drama. And the cast was superb. Perhaps there's hope for me after all?

not what i expected. some humor but not enough to keep us entertained and we turned it off before finishing.

Super weird staging where all the actors are playing instruments, but incredible talent. Raul Esparza can sing better than anyone alive.

I did not appreciate this filming of a Broadway musical. This one would better seen in person rather than on a much smaller screen. The form detracted far too much from the content for my liking.
