Captain von Trapp: "It's the dress. You'll have to put on another one before you meet the children." Maria: "But I don't have another one. When we entered the abbey our worldly clothes were given to the poor." Captain von Trapp: "What about this one?" Maria: "The poor didn't want this one."
Maria: "Gretl, what happened to your finger?" Gretl: "It got caught." Maria: "Caught in what?" Gretl: "Friedrich's teeth."
Louisa: "I'm Brigitta." Maria: "You didn't tell me how old you are... Louisa." Brigitta: "I'M Brigitta, she's Louisa. She's thirteen years old, and you're smart! I'm ten, and I think your dress is the ugliest one I ever saw!" Kurt: "Brigitta, you shouldn't say that!" Brigitta: "Why not? Don't you think it's ugly?" Kurt: "Of course, but Fraulein Helga's was ugliest."

this is such a good movie and i will never get bored of it!!!
This one definitely deserves its status as a classic. The music, dancing, and acting are great, and I went from tearing up at parts, to laughing, to singing, to actually holding my breath as the tension built, to laughing out loud again. I had seen bits and pieces of this story over the years, but had never seen it from beginning to end, and I'm so glad that I can now say that I have.
I have watched this movie more than 10 times. Our 8 year old has watched it even more and sings along. One of the best movies we have watched. It is a movie to have so we bought the DVD.
The Best Family Musical's of All time period.
A heartwarming masterpiece.
It is the best movie I've ever watched!
A classic! Very good, and it is very family-friendly...I wish it was a little shorter though. This a movie that is a must-see for anyone. I mean everyone one time in their life, should watch this at least once!
Really loved this movie. Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer are wonderful in it.
Like, one of the greatest movies of all time. Worthy of watching over and over and over again!
