Criminal defense attorney Jack Swyteck tackles a case in which nothing is as it seems. Falcon is a homeless man who comes up with $10,000 bail in cash. Then the body of a brutally murdered woman is found in the car Falcon is living in, and while on the run, Falcon takes Jack's best friend and others hostage. Jack works with the hostage negotiator, unaware that Falcon has a much bigger agenda.

Have been reading Grippando's Jack Swytek series in order. This is the best I have read so far in this enjoyable series. Gripping and awfully hard to put down.

I didn't think Grippando's stories could get any worse than Hear No Evil. Sadly, I was let down.

This book takes cliches to a lower level. Swytek, a defense lawyer, is suddenly hurled into the seat of a hostage negotiator, while people behind the scenes try to prevent anyone from coming out alive.

Over the top characterizations, lack of thrills makes this a poor summer read.
