Not bad, but not excellent either. Decent.

GOOD 2006 light sit-com-rom film. I particularly enjoyed Terry Bradshaw's acting - and getting introduced to actress Zooey Deschanel.

If you take this movie lightly, it's funny, and it features two of the most photogenic, charming stars America has today. However, if you really look at its premise, you understand Matthew McConaughey's bewildered question when he asks his parents why they went to great intrigue (including paying for romantic manipulation) to get him "launched" out of their cozy home. "Couldn't you have just asked me to leave?"

It’s every parent’s nightmare: their child still lives with them even after they graduated. In this case, Tripp (Matthew McConaughey), a 35-year-old man, still resides in his parents’ house. Fed up with Tripp’s behavior, his parents hire Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker) to help convince  Tripp to move out. Paula believes that Tripp just needs a boost of confidence so that he will feel comfortable with living without his parents. As Paula spend more time with Tripp, she begins to mix up her personal and professional life. Failure To Launch is fairly predictable and at times very repetitive. I just felt that the plot was all over the place. I absolutely love Matthew McConaughey, but, unfortunately, I cannot say the same for this movie.

Somewhat funny, OK as a date night movie, other than that I didn't think it was that good.

This movie was cute but highly predictable. I liked the basis of the plot.

Paula: Hey-hey.

Kit: Hey... Paula... Good news. It's Champagne Thursday.

Paula: It's Friday.

Kit: Uh, yeah, Thursday came twice this week.

Paula: Huh... for the third straight week.

Kit: There's talk of making it permanent.

Paula: Oh, kind of like Daylight Saving's Time?

Kit: Right, but for booze.

Why do I desire you so everytime I se you ? Have you put some sort of spell on me ? Or are you an alien from another planet ?

Kit: I smell something. Do you smell something?
Paula: Oh, Tripp and I had crab today.
Kit: No, that's not it. I smell... fun.
Paula: What?
Kit: You are a dirty little fun-haver.

Ace: So, is Kit short for Katherine?
Kit: Yes. Is Ace short for... Ace-a-rooney?

At 35, Tripp has an interesting job, a hip car, a passion for sailing, and a great house - trouble is, he lives with his parents. They want him out, so they hire Paula, an "interventionist," who has a formula in these cases: chance encounter, get him to ask her out, involve him in a trauma, meet his friends and get their nod, delay sex, have him teach her something, then launch him. It's worked up to now, but this gets complicated when Tripp thinks she's getting too serious and one of his pals is attracted to Paula's deadpan, semi-alcoholic roommate, who's plagued by a mockingbird. Too many secrets may scrub the launch, and what if Paula really likes him? Who can intervene then?
