Cute story with familiar references to a past era. I can b relate to moving to a new place when I was 10 years old. Not fun!

It's 1962 and Rex and his family have just moved to Ottawa. From a 10 year old boy's point of view, its a fairly boring summer until he makes some friends. The cuban missile threat is a prominent theme throughout the book. I'd forgotten what a big event that was at the time.

Great story for any adult who remembers the cold war, the threat of nuclear bombs and the construction of bomb shelters in the backyard. A good little mystery for children but the references will keep adults engaged. Child minds are always interesting. Very good read.
