I cannot express how high the bar has been set by the “We All Fall Down” 2006 novel by Eric Walters — it has truly opened up to both the peaks and valleys encountered on the extremely emotional road to closure from one of the most significant attacks against the U.S. in history, the September 11 attacks. Although the topic is sensitive, Eric Walters made sure to explore the impact of this event in the most realistic way possible: through the perspectives of first-hand and second-hand victims. The amount of facts and information in this novel shows Eric Walters’ incredibly great amount of dedication and focus to get the message out about the burden these circumstances have left on the lives of many people. I completely applaud the author for successfully attempting to tackle such a thin-skinned subject while addressing the heavier details with thought and awareness. Overall, “We All Fall Down” by Eric Walters was an emotion-filled novel and I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone seeking a heartfelt and informative read. Rating: 5/5

Tomorrow is bring your child to work day, and ninth grader Will is going to be spending it with his Father-whom he almost never sees-at the World Trade Center. How much fun could he have when his Dad, who never has time for him, has a job like that? But what he doesn’t know is that tomorrow is also September 11th, 2001-a day that will go down in history forever. Even though his characters are made-up, Eric Walters presents his story as though he was really there. It’s well thought out, which says that he took great care to get his message across without offending anyone he could accidentally offend. The characters are all down to Earth, and their personal struggles are shown in a way that wraps up readers as much as the story itself. It’s a short book, but worth reading just to see the care he put into it. This may not be my usual book genre, but all things considered, it’s a work of art.

This novel was surprisingly touching. It not only described what happened during the event, but offered a glimpse as to how it changed people's lives and the reaction it had on the people who were effected. It was a fast read thanks to it's vividness and suspense. I recommend this to anyone who's looking for a thrilling and dramatic book-- while wanting to look deeper into the events of 9/11. Teens will especially relate to the emotions felt by the characters in the story.

I've read this book to my kids twice and I felt like I learned something each time. It explains how the towers were built for safety but no one ever imagined a full-sized jet would crash into them. I like how the father makes calculated decisions every step of the way. Nice short chapters for reading out loud.
