This junior fantasy novel is ideal for kids interested in the genre and for adults who want something fast and interesting to read.

This is the first of five books; however, the five books read more or less like one novel/story spread out over those books and since each one is about 100 pages (including 10+ pages of full-page illustrations) they are a perfect book when you don't have much time, but want a nice fantastical adventure to read about.

The fact that it comes in five different volumes instead of one is the only downside I found as an adult reader, but perhaps those within the target demographic (kids) would find the breakdown less daunting than a thick tome.

This is a really fun series. Although it's a children's book anyone would enjoy it. I love the fantasy elements and it really makes you use your imagination. Make sure to read the whole series!
