This is INCORRECTLY listed as:
"Sword of Truth, Book One";
when it SHOULD BE listed as:
"Sword of Truth, Book Zero" since it is a "prequel" to the book, Wizard's First Rule.

Very disappointed in this book. It barely told anymore of the story than was already told in previous books. Definately not up to the standard I have come to expect from Terry Goodkind.

I was a bit disappointed with this short story. It seemed rushed, and Goodkind's usual depth of details were missing.

Debt of Bones takes places many years before the book Wizard's First Rule.

Abby has come to the Wizard's Keep to appeal to the First Wizard Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander in order to save the lives of her husband and daughter, both of whom has been captured by the D'Haran armies. Bringing her mother's bones, she intends to cash in a "debt of bones", a life debt owed by someone else, in order to make the First Wizard do it.
