Young Beth's life is turned upside down when a car crash takes the life of her parents and siblings. Beth had stayed home, due to being sick. Her family never arrived at the Fourth of July picnic they would have been attending, and when their car was discovered, they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Beth is forced to move into her only relatives', her aunt, uncle, and spoiled cousin, home. Beth's now the new girl at school.
She has to learn to cope with her family's death, so she decides to visit her old home to try to come to terms with everything that had happened.
