Honestly, the beginning of this book aggravated me to tears.
By the end of Firelight, your lead female is constantly being blamed by everyone else for everyone elses actions - not even the people who supposedly care about her point this out to her and that she shouldn't blame herself to the extent she does.
So the beginning of Vanish shows not only everyone else blaming the lass, she is now blaming herself for every misdeed done, not only what she's done but what others have done. And no-one stands by her and actually says "that wasn't your fault because...."
I think that's what frustrated me the most, so much cult mentality and emotional abuse/manipulation going on, and the only one willing to stand up to it all was Will.
Vanish did show a solid point of Jacinda finally picking her battles and biding her time.
Hopefully the final book in the trilogy resolves these issues and wipes the pride and hunters out.
This book was fantastic I cannot wait to read the third book. I highly recommend this series as well and it sits on my top shelf waiting to be read again.
To be perfectly honest, I am over Will. He just needs to move along, because Cassian is better for Jace, in my opinion. Good book, but I cannot wait for the third book! Def read the first book though so you don't miss out on the background.
amazing book! both books were equally great. can't wait for the second book!!
I'm so in love with this series! As I said in my review of Firelight, the draki are a little breath of fresh air between all the vamps and wolves out there. The relationships start to get deeper in second book of the trilogy and there is angst times two! I'm not even sure what to say without spoilering the plot for you all, suffice to say Vanish just builds on the awesomeness that is Firelight. Jacinda has to make sacrifices but there are surprises along the way and much build-up for what could happen in Hidden, the third and last book in the series. I'm so excited and cannot wait to see how Sophie Jordan ends it all! Btw, she rocks, if you didn't know that already! I'm definitely a loyal reader now!
I loved this book as much as the first except for cassian i want him to be with her sister. but i mean he's nice to protect her and all. But i want them all to be friends and WIll with Jacinda! they should rescuse cass's sister and kill their dad. dusz i dont like the 'leadr' of da Draki..
ohmyfreakinggosh. it was so good . i couldn't put it down . i spent hours at night , reading with a flashlight under my blankets just to find out what happened ! it was so good . can't wait for the third book to come out ! the ending got me mad though , it had such an edgy cliffhanger , myfreakinggosh , i thought i was gonna loose my mind waiting for the next book to come out . totally worth getting yelled by your parents for staying up late to read this book .
Great read! The first few chapters are a little slow, but the ending makes up for it. Can't wait to read the 3rd!
What a great ending!!!! The last few chapters were amazing! I can't wait till the next book. I really liked this book. I like how now there is not only Will but also Cassian (who I have started to like better than Will). Great book!!!
I admit the overall plot and pace of the story was better than Firelight. However, like those before me, I admit that Jacinda does start to get on your nerves. Just pick a guy, woman, and leave everybody else out of it! Tamra's plot twist was really the only unpredictable thing in this book, which is starting to turn in to a clichéd drawn out romance. Hopefully book three is better!
i agree jacinda is just pissing me off! pick one either will or (preferably) cassian.... if will is the one than jacinda shouldnt even be thinking of cassian...... figure it out woman and stop being so damn snarky and selfish about it.
This book was quiet disappointing compared to the first one because the protagonist Jacinda is just very selfish. She can't let anyone in her life have happiness except for her self. When Cassian was getting close to Tamara she got jealous, but she mentions to herself all the time that her true love is Will, which just proves that she is just so selfish to think of other people.
this heffa (the protagonist, Jacinda)was getting on my damn nerves!...liked her much better in the first one
Definitely leaves you wanting to know what happens next! Can't wait for the next one!
