In 1962 Baltimore, Tracy Turnblad wins a spot on a local TV dance program. She is transformed into an overnight teen celebrity and uses her newfound fame to try and beat the reigning starlet, win the heart of her crush, and racially integrate the TV show.

i loved this movie-its really upbeat and fun
Stick with John Waters' version. Ricky Lake made a better Tracy Turnblad and Divine outshone Travolta as Tracy's mother. I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
